The European Union’s Drinking Water Directive (EU) 2020/2184 introduces a harmonized compliance framework for products and materials that come into contact with drinking water. From 1 January 2027, new products placed on the European market will need to meet the requirements established under Article 11. Manufacturers should therefore begin reviewing their products, materials, supplier documentation, risk classifications, testing requirements, and certification pathways well before the legislation takes effect.
